About Us

Brian and I were married on May 19th, 2007. Shortly thereafter, we moved to Nevada, MO to begin our life together. Brian works for 3M as an Advanced Product Engineer and I am blessed to be a stay at home mom. Our little boy Gentry was born on January 26, 2011. He is the most beautiful, perfect little boy and we are so lucky he is ours. We have a boxer named Lucy who we treat like our child as well. She is still a little jealous of Gentry but we know one day they will be buddies.

Gentry's New Trick

Gentry LOVES playing in his Jeep, as you can tell from one of my previous posts. This past weekend he figured out that he can push all of his Jeep sound buttons with his tongue/mouth/nose. As soon as we put him in his Jeep he immediately begins this new found trick. Oh, Gentry...what will you think of next my sweet boy?

*Disclaimer-There is an excessive amount of drool in these videos.* :)

A Few Photos

Just a few new pictures of the little guy! As you can see, he really is a cheese and thinks he has to stick his tongue out in most photos. What a silly boy!

Happy baby!

Sticking my tongue out!
I'm ready for my close up!

Lucy was feeling a little left out!

There's that tongue again!

Get your motor runnin', head out on the highway, looking for adventure, and whatever comes my way....BORN TO BE WILD!!!

When I met Brian he had a Jeep! We loved driving around with the top down, just hanging out! When he got an intership with Cargill in Akron, OH the summer before we got married, he decided it was time to trade in his Jeep. The long drive to Akron and back in his soft-top Wrangler would have been a long one! So he traded in his Jeep for his Tribute. Trust me, he got a lot of "soccer mom" comments from the guys for that! When we were registering for baby items, I came across this adorable Jeep Liberty Renegade walker. I knew our little guy needed it! I think Brian is even a little jealous that his 5 month old has a Jeep now and he doesn't. I have promised that one day he will have a Jeep again. Gentry loves to stand so lately he has gotten to spend a lot of time in his Jeep. He can't really make it "go" yet but he loves pushing all of the buttons, steering and playing with the mirrors. He thinks he's pretty big stuff in it!

Vroom, vroom!

Look out, here I come!Look mom, no hands!I love my Jeep!

Since he is teething, everything he sees or touches goes straight to his mouth. This weekend he figured out that it is much more fun to push the buttons on the steering wheel with his tongue/mouth/face than with his fingers. I took some close-up videos of him practicing his new trick that I will post later. He is such a little goof!

He's On A Roll

Gentry finally began rolling over about a month ago. He has always hated "tummy time" so I didn't know if he would ever get the hang of it. He had rolled over from back to tummy (not real common) very early on but when he realized he was on his tummy he wouldn't try it again. Now when we put him on his tummy, he knows exactly what to do to get back on his back. Brian created a video montage of several of the videos that we have gotten of his new skill. He has since rolled from back to tummy a couple of times but I have yet to get it on video. We are also working on sitting up. He is quite good at sitting up using his hands to support himself and has even sat for a few seconds without support. It won't be long and he'll have that mastered too! He is growing up WAY too fast!

Disclaimer: I am a very proud mama and you will often hear my squeals of delight when the little guy makes it over. The first video is particulary obnoxious as it was the first time we had caught it on video. You may even want to mute your speakers!

Gentry's Room

I am just now getting around to posting pictures of Gentry's room because it is FINALLY (almost) finished. It has been at the stage in these pictures since last October. As soon as we found out we were expecting a little boy, the bedding was on order. Then we found furniture we liked and ordered it as well. We then chose a paint color and voila, our guest room became Gentry's nursery. The only thing missing was a shelf/storage system for all of his books, toys and other items he was already accumulating. We found a shelf at Target that we really liked the design of but it was made of a REALLY cheap laminate and did not come in a color to match the furniture we had already chosen. Luckily, my boss at the time, has an incredibly talented father-in-law who actually custom made an exact replica of the cheap Target shelf for Gentry's room. It was stained to match his furniture and it looks amazing! I have yet to take a picture of it but I will post a photo in the next entry I do. The next entry will also include the last finishing detail of little man's room. I wanted to put Gentry's name above his crib but I didn't want to do the expected wooden block letters that you see so often now. Instead, I found a really neat vinyl graphic in "varsity" font to match the sports decor. Brian jumped at the chance to make it since he basically makes stickers for a living! Little did we know how busy he was going to be and how much work this little graphic would be. Needless to say, it is now June and there is still no graphic above his crib! BUT...I finally gave in and ordered it online and it should be here this week! I am beyond thrilled!!! As soon as it arrives and is on the wall I will post photos!

Photo Update

I am trying to do a better job at updating the blog! As for our photo sharing site, Flickr....well that is another story. It takes WAY more time to upload ALL of the videos and photos of Gentry. (We take a lot.) This blog format is much easier and faster and gives me more options of personalization and information....and since it takes less time, that means more time with the little man! Gentry had his 4 month "well baby" check-up on Wednesday and vaccinations on Thursday. He weighed 15 lbs. 10 1/2 oz. (50th percentile) and was 26 inches long (75th percentile.) He is right on track with his growth curve and perfectly average for his age. He did great when he got his booster shots and barely even cried. He has always done so well and has never had a fever afterwards or acted like he was in any pain. Thank goodness!

I LOVE my jungle gym!Go K-State! (one of my favorite pictures of him)

Look! It's my Lucy dog on my shirt! Vroom, vroom! Off to see my grandma!

New"ish" Pics

Here are some newer pictures of Gentry! Newer, meaning May 11th and prior. I have not been as prompt at updating the blog as I had originally planned. We have so many more pictures that we need to get off the camera and onto the computer. I realize it is not hard, it just takes times and I would much rather play with my little man than be on the computr.

Gentry has changed so much since these pictures were taken. He is now rolling over and has quite the little (big) personality! He loves to laugh and smile. He is drooling like crazy and has what looks to be the corner of a bottom tooth trying to poke through. He is a little over 15 pounds now and is SO long! I am curious to see his exact weight and length at his "well baby" check-up next week. For those of you that have seen him recently will notice that he has much more hair in these pictures that he currently does. He is so "active" that he is wearing it off when he uses his head to scoot and move.
