About Us

Brian and I were married on May 19th, 2007. Shortly thereafter, we moved to Nevada, MO to begin our life together. Brian works for 3M as an Advanced Product Engineer and I am blessed to be a stay at home mom. Our little boy Gentry was born on January 26, 2011. He is the most beautiful, perfect little boy and we are so lucky he is ours. We have a boxer named Lucy who we treat like our child as well. She is still a little jealous of Gentry but we know one day they will be buddies.

FINALLY...a video of Gentry crawling!!!

Gentry has been "crawling" for quite a while. I put crawling in quotations because although he learned to crawl a month or more ago, he would only crawl when he wanted something and when he would get within a stretched arms length of whatever he wanted, he would just lay down and reach for it. Usually said item was within a foot or two of him. He loves to pull up on anything he can as he's quite the little monkey and has no fear. I guess he just wanted to wait until he was REALLY ready to fully crawl. Well, yesterday was the day. I never caught it on video yesterday but I finally did this afternoon. Ladies and gentleman....prepare to be amazed! :) Just kidding...I'm just proud of my little man. Now that he is really on the move and pulling up on things, we are in trouble, Lucy included!

Playing Catch Up

It's a good thing that I don't get paid to blog....because I would be fired! I really do intend to post more frequently but it seems like the only time I get the opportunity to sit down and write up posts is on the weekends when Brian is home to entertain Gentry. He really isn't a fan of the computer yet...unless he's playing Angry Birds with daddy. :) So here I am again on Sunday morning/afternoon playing catch up from the previous week...or in this case...weeks!

Excuse me, don't you see I'm taking a bath?

Our own little alfalfa!
Chasing Lucy around the ottoman!

Almost got her!

I'm a John Deere boy!

I LOVE my pillow pet penguin from Aunt Courtney!

See my teeth?

Chewing on my block bucket! (He's working on his top teeth now.)

Thanks for my new toy...this is fun!

Trying to get Lucy to lick his hand. (His hands get washed MANY times a day as he loves getting her to lick him. )

Fascinated by the Independence Bulldog mascot. The game was in Fort Scott so we made the short drive over to cheer them on. His favorite part was the cheerleaders...he watched them all night. Brian was a proud dad! :)

Sweet boy!

Crazy boy!

Silly boy!

Headed toward the entertainment center...on a mission.

You can't catch me, mom!

I made it! Trying to pull the corner protectors off. We're in trouble with this little guy!

Pulling himself up on the end table.

Such a big boy!

He LOVES to stand!

Where does he come up with these things?

Gentry's newest game/form of entertainment is showcased in the two videos below. Where he came up with this, I have no idea! One evening before bedtime we were all hanging out on the couch. Gentry was sitting between Brian and I and he began to make this silly noise while stiffening his arms out in front of him. I began to mimic him and he thought it was funny. We went back and forth for quite some time. I was in hysterics when all was said and done. I thought it was just some one time thing that he would do but I was wrong. He must of remembered how entertaining it was because the next day we played the same game, going back and forth, copying each other. When Brian was home that evening, Gentry apparently wanted to play his game with daddy because he started up again.

The first video is of the two of them the first time I captured it on video. We had the lights dimmed so it is a bit dark but it is quite funny. Enjoy!

This second video is from yesterday. He was at it again....silly boy! The lighting is better in this one since it was daytime. (Notice Brian keeping his eye on the tv. :) His Cats were playing and he just couldn't miss a play.)

Happy Grandparent's Day...Love, Gentry

Gentry wanted to wish his Grandpa Mark and Grandma Tracy Sandon, Grandpa Steve and Grandma Vickie Medsker and Grandpa Jerry and Grandma Linda Francis a VERY "Happy 1st Grandparent's Day!" (We wanted him to hold the signs but after he tried to crumple, rip and eat the first one, we decided it would be easier if we just sat them beside him.)

Life lately....

Just a few random pictures of life in the Sandon household lately...

An everyday occurrence...trying to keep Gentry from mauling Lucy. Yes, you read that right...definitely not the other way around. Lucy LOVES Gentry and he REALLY loves her too!

Ornery little smirk!
Happy boy!

I really wish I could figure this crawling business out. (He is SO close.)

After Lucy...again.

Enjoying my walk with mommy!

Can you see my two teefies? They have come in even more since this picture was taken and

boy are they sharp!

Only two toys to go and I'll have this whole thing emptied. We play this game many times a day.

Who knew darts could be this much fun?

The other evening, Brian had Gentry in the game room. I thought they were just watching football but I began to hear some loud thuds followed by giggles from Gentry. I peeked around the corner and this is what I saw! I quickly grabbed our little "point and shoot" camera (Note to self....must begin using the better quality video camera for...VIDEOS!) and began filming. Oh, the things that entertain a seven month old! I just love listening to him laugh!

Visit to Independence

Labor Day weekend we traveled to Independence. Since Brian is currently working 12 hour shifts he has Fridays off. Luckily this worked out so that he had a four day weekend. Yay! Gentry enjoyed swimming in grandma and grandpa's pool, visiting Great Grandma Betty in Coffeyville, dinner with Great Grandpa and Grandma Russell, playing outside, swinging, horsey rides from Grandpa Steve and meeting for dinner with Uncle Eric at Eggbert's. It was a busy weekend for little G. I guess we forgot to get the camera out when we got together with Great Grandpa and Grandma Russell. We always seem to miss getting pictures with someone on our visits. We'll make sure to get some next time. Here are some pictures from the trip.

Playing with Aunt Courtney.

Ready to watch the Wildcats...dressed just like daddy!
My two boys!

LOVE!

Look at me go!

Playing in the grass for the first time! (This reminds me of a certain chicken poop picture of my brother Erick when we was about this age. Luckily there was no chicken poop involved in this picture.)

Swinging!

Mommy's turn to push!

Lots of giggles!

Poor Lucy dog!

Off I go!

Giddy up, Grandpa Steve!

How do I work the lights and sirens?

Uncle Eric has lots of cool things to play with on his uniform!

I think daddy's hat is a little too big.

Playing with grandpa.

Getting ready to go home.

Bye, grandma.
