About Us

Brian and I were married on May 19th, 2007. Shortly thereafter, we moved to Nevada, MO to begin our life together. Brian works for 3M as an Advanced Product Engineer and I am blessed to be a stay at home mom. Our little boy Gentry was born on January 26, 2011. He is the most beautiful, perfect little boy and we are so lucky he is ours. We have a boxer named Lucy who we treat like our child as well. She is still a little jealous of Gentry but we know one day they will be buddies.

Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead

Brian had planned to re-roof our carport this weekend. He bought the supplies on Monday at Sutherland's to take advantage of their Memorial Day sale. They were short one roll of roofing but gave him a "rain ticket" and said it would be in on Friday. Saturday morning, Brian headed to Sutherland's to pick it up before he got started tearing off the old roof. Good thing he did because it hadn't come in. Since Brian's plans were shot we decided to head to KC. One of Brian's co-workers had told us how much his girls enjoyed the Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead in Overland Park. We got around, got directions and headed that way. Gentry took a nap on the way there and was ready for action when we arrived. Admission was only $2 each for Brian and I and Gentry got in free. Score! This place was so much fun. They had old farm machinery throughout the farmstead amongst beds of flowers and vegetable gardens. It was beautiful. Gentry got to feed lots of farm animals, play in the dirt and even hug some goats. Yes, he hugged the goats. Such a little sweetie, he is. Here are some pictures from our time at DRCF. I see many return trips in our future.
The entrance from the road.
