We found out just how loved AND spoiled Gentry is this Christmas. The weekend before Christmas we drove back to Anthony to visit my family. We spent a little more time there than usual since is always seems that as soon as we get unpacked at my parent's house, we are packing right back up again to go home. The drive takes about an extra hour each way with Gentry so we spend half of a day just traveling. It was nice to not feel like we were rushed to see everyone in such a short amount of time. We spent a few hours on Friday with my grandparents. Gentry always loves going to their house because my grandma has lots of "pretties" (breakables) that Gentry always finds as well as a glass coffee table the he always leaves his mark (fingerprints) on. Sorry grandpa and grandma. :) Gentry got two really cool gifts from them; a new John Deere toy and the Tickle Monster book and gloves as well as $20. Great Grandpa John wanted to make sure that money went in Gentry's piggie bank so I took pictures as proof. :) On Saturday, some family friends came over to visit and brought Gentry a new John Deere book. Thanks, Lytles! We also had our family Christmas that evening at my parent's house. They really spoiled him. They gave him a new John Deere toy, a K-State Pillow Pet, a K-State sippy cup and an awesome John Deere wagon. Uncle Erick gave him a new toy as well....a VERY loud toy...which Gentry REALLY loves! Thanks, Uncle Erick! :) On Sunday, my mom had planned a sort of "come and go" open house. We thought it would be easier to have friends and family come to us than to drag Gentry around in the cold that weekend to try to see everyone. So many people showed up to meet and/or see Mr. Gentry. We were just looking forward to seeing everyone but some even showed up with more presents. Can we say SPOILED? Thank you all! We traveled back home on Monday to rest up, get laundry done and re-pack before we hit the road again on Thursdayto visit Brian's family.
This past Thursday we drove to Brian's mom's house. Gentry got to open his big present when we got there so he could enjoy it longer. They got him in own Gentry-sized recliner. He looks so cute sitting in it. That evening we went to Brian's Grandpa and Grandma Russell's house. We got to see a lot of the family and Gentry spent time playing with his "cousin" James who is about three weeks older than him. Great Grandpa and Grandma Russell also gave Gentry a new car, some new socks and a Christmas book. I kept forgetting to take pictures while there so I only got a couple of Gentry and James playing. Shame on me. :) On Friday, we went back down to Coffeyville to celebrate Christmas at Brian's grandma Betty's house. We went down early to open presents and spend some extra time with Brian's dad and Tracy before everyone else showed up. We also walked down the block to visit the Tracy's parents, Ray and Shirley. Gentry was spoiled once again. He got money from Ray and Shirley for his piggy bank. Thank you both! From Aunt Katelyn and Uncle Brandon he got a Frosty the Snowman recordable book which Katelyn had recorded for him and he LOVES it. They also gave him a super cute tableware set called a "Chew Chew Train." The trains comes apart and the pieces become the plate, bowl, cup, etc. Adorable! Grandpa Mark and Grandma Tracy gave him a Little People Zoo set, lots of new books, some clothes, new socks, a musical puppy, a stuffed polar bear, a Christmas ornament and some new "bling" to share with mommy. ;) Great Grandma Sandon gave him a 1st Christmas ornament and an activity walker. I didn't have the camera out for the gifts from Great Grandma but he loves them! Gentry got to play with more "cousins," Cooper and Claire and he really enjoyed pushing around Claire's new doll in her baby stroller, much to Brian's dismay.
On Saturday morning, after Brian's brother Eric got off duty as a police officer, he came out to open presents with us at Brian's mom's house. Gentry got a new police car with sirens and horns and a K-State tableware set from Uncle Eric. Grandpa Steve and Grandma Vickie gave him a remote controlled car, a plush book, a musical guitar, a plush Independence bulldog toy and a few small cars and toys in his stocking. Aunt Courtney gave Gentry a train table set but Brian still has to get it put together. Maybe tomorrow? I know he will love it. Aunt Kelly came out to visit too and brought him a new musical book. That afternoon we drove back home so that we would be home on Christmas morning.
Whew! See, I told you Gentry was very LOVED and spoiled! Christmas morning he got a few small things from us but his "big" gift was a toy box and boy did he need it after all of the new things he received over the last couple of weeks! I think we might need a bigger house before long! :)
