About Us

Brian and I were married on May 19th, 2007. Shortly thereafter, we moved to Nevada, MO to begin our life together. Brian works for 3M as an Advanced Product Engineer and I am blessed to be a stay at home mom. Our little boy Gentry was born on January 26, 2011. He is the most beautiful, perfect little boy and we are so lucky he is ours. We have a boxer named Lucy who we treat like our child as well. She is still a little jealous of Gentry but we know one day they will be buddies.

Bumblebee Baby Shower

The last Sunday in July, I hosted a baby shower for a friend of mine. Her husband Brian and Brian work together at 3M. They are having a sweet baby boy in October and since I love to plan and host any kind of party, I offered to host a baby shower for them. I found the adorable bumblebee themed party supples and loved the black, white and yellow color scheme. It ended up being very fitting as they had both attended Emporia State University before attending K-State. Emporia's mascot just so happens to be Corky the Hornet and their colors are black and gold. How do I know this? Well, my mama just so happened to graduate from Emporia State. I wanted to keep completely to the color scheme so all of the food was also either black, white or yellow. Do you know how hard it is to find foods in those three colors? HARD! I made yummy "black bottomed cupcakes" from one of my Gooseberry Patch cookbooks, pineapple and blackberry fruit skewers, lemon bars, oreo and vanilla pudding cups. I also had baby goldfish crackers, and some black and yellow candies. To wash it all down, I made a yummy and highly recommended pineapple lemonade punch recipe that I found on Pinterest. For favors I stuck to the theme and all of the guests received a tube of Burt's Bees chapstick....yellow AND bee themed. Brian was so kind to take some photos of the spread for everyone arrived. Thanks, Brian!
