I realized that since Gentry was born I haven't done an update on Miss Lucy Dog. Lucy adjusted well to Gentry from the get-go. She was always very curious about him and wanted to be close to him. I think she has enjoyed me being home with her and Gentry because she doesn't have to spend her days in her kennel like she did when I was working. She has benefited tremendously from the extra attention from both Gentry and I because we both LOVE our Lucy dog....especially Gentry. In the past few months she has had a few more of her seizure/syncope episodes. We still don't know what causes them but we do notice that they tend to happen more when she gets really excited. She is always extra clingy for a day or so afterwards and then is back to her normal self again. Now that Gentry is more mobile she has to work harder to escape him. He loves to crawl to his Lucy and pick on her. We have noticed her trying to show her dominance a little more lately by trying to get in between Gentry and us while playing. She acts as if she doesn't want us giving him our attention. When she does this we just put her in her kennel to show her that he isn't going anywhere and he is more important and her behavior is NOT acceptable. If any of you dog owners know how to nix this behavior in a different way, feel free to share. We don't think she would ever try to harm Gentry as she is so gentle but we also don't want to take a chance either. Anways...on to the pictures. Before Gentry, Lucy got new toys all the time...probably more often than needed. But since the little guy entered our lives, she hasn't gotten any that I can think of. Bad parents, I know! Last night at WalMart I came across this horrendously ugly pig. I picked it up anyways and it made the funniest/creepiest squeak/honk that I've ever heard a pet toy make. I knew Lucy needed one of the ugly pigs so in the cart it went. I brought it home and she LOVES it. Below are a few pictures and a video of Lucy and her ugly pig.
